Quantum Clocks are More Accurate Than Classical Ones

چکیده
A clock is, from an information-theoretic perspective, a system that emits information about time. One may therefore ask whether the theory of imposes any constraints on maximum precision clocks. Here we show quantum-over-classical advantage for clocks or, more precisely, task generating what time it is. The argument is based considerations: analyze how accuracy scales with its size, measured in terms number bits could be stored it. We find quantum can achieve quadratically improved compared to purely classical one same size.Received 28 January 2020Revised 20 September 2021Accepted 21 December 2021DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PRXQuantum.3.010319Published by American Physical Society under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. How much larger quantum correlations are than classical ones
Considering as distance between two two-party correlations the minimum number of half bits required to be transmitted from one party to the other in order to turn one correlation into the other, we show that the volume of the set of physically obtainable correlations 〈AiBj〉 in the EPR-Bell scenario, where A0 and A1 (B0 and B1) are two alternative dichotomic experiments on subsystem A (on a dist...
متن کاملAre Random Trading Strategies More Successful than Technical Ones?
In this paper we explore the specific role of randomness in financial markets, inspired by the beneficial role of noise in many physical systems and in previous applications to complex socio-economic systems. After a short introduction, we study the performance of some of the most used trading strategies in predicting the dynamics of financial markets for different international stock exchange ...
متن کاملAre Parallel Robots More Accurate than Serial Robots?
It is widely claimed that parallel robots are intrinsically more accurate than serial robots because their errors are averaged instead of added cumulatively, an assertion which has not been properly addressed in the literature. This paper addresses this void by comparing the kinematic accuracy of two pairs of serialparallel 2-DOF planar robots. Only input errors are considered and all robots ar...
متن کاملAre large auditors more accurate than small auditors ?
.•\bstract—Theoretical research suggests that large auditors have more incentive to issue accurate reports compared to small auditors (DeAngelo. 1981; Dye, 1993). Controiling for the client characteristics of large and small auditors, this paper shows that large auditors issue reports that are more accurate and more informative signals of financial distress. These findings are consistent with t...
متن کاملEmbedding Quantum Universes into Classical Ones
Do the partial order and ortholattice operations of a quantum logic correspond to the logical implication and connectives of classical logic? Re-phrased, how far might a classical understanding of quantum mechanics be, in principle, possible? A celebrated result by Kochen and Specker answers the above question in the negative. However, this answer is just one among different possible ones, not ...
